The Moosehead Lake region of Maine is filled with spectacular recreation opportunities, from snowmobiling to hiking to hunting. There are no commercial flights to Moosehead Lake. But fortunately, there are some easy options that will have you relaxing in Greenville in no time!
Fly to Bangor (BGR)
The closest commercial airport to Moosehead Lake is located in Bangor, which is about an hour and a half drive from the lake. Bangor International Airport has a number of rental car options available. Once you’re on the ground, the drive to Greenville is a great taste of Maine. (You might see a moose or two along the way!)

Take a seaplane
Moosehead Lake is well known as a bustling seaplane hotspot. It’s the home of the International Seaplane Fly-in, after all! The region has a number of scenic and charter flight companies that will be happy to fly you to and from the lake.
Flights depend on a lot of conditions, including whether the lake has frozen over for the winter. Be sure to contact the companies to see if they can accommodate your needs!
